Client: Filmed by Silas Weddings
Squarespace Web & Brand Design for an Alberta Wedding Photographer
scope: Brand Strategy · Brand Identity · Website Design · Copywriting · SEO Intensive
When Britney and Silas first launched Filmed by Silas Weddings, I had the privilege of designing their very first website as they introduced their wedding photography and videography business to Manitoba.
Three years later, their business had grown in every way.
They had built an incredible reputation, served dozens of wonderful couples, and refined the experience they wanted every client to have. But after relocating to Alberta, they found themselves stepping into an entirely new market—one with different competition, different expectations, and a completely different audience.
Their work had evolved. Their business had evolved. Their brand needed to evolve with it. This project wasn't about starting over. It was about creating a brand that truly reflected who they had become.
Together, we developed a refined visual identity, repositioned their messaging, created a completely custom Squarespace website, and built an SEO strategy designed to support long-term growth throughout Calgary, Banff, Canmore, Cochrane, and the Canadian Rockies.
The result is a brand that feels elevated, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in the stories they help preserve.
“We couldn’t be happier with our new website or with how well it represents both our brand and who we are as people. Her creative eye, thoughtful approach, and guidance throughout the process made such a difference.”
We have had the pleasure of working with Endeavor Design Studio for the past three years, and Kaylee has designed and supported the websites for our wedding photography and videography business, Filmed by Silas Weddings, every step of the way. She has consistently done an incredible job, but the recent redesign of our website has truly exceeded our expectations.
With our move from Manitoba to Cochrane, Alberta, we knew it was time for our brand and website to evolve with us. As wedding photographers and videographers, our website is such an important part of how potential clients experience our work, so it was incredibly important to us that our new brand identity complemented our photography and films while also feeling like a genuine representation of who we are as creative professionals and adventurous people.
Kaylee's onboarding process was one of our favourite parts of the experience. It was incredibly thorough and gave us the opportunity to communicate all of the ideas we had been thinking about, while also prompting us to dig deeper into things we hadn't fully considered — our goals for the website, how we want to be perceived, who our dream clients are, and what we ultimately want people to feel when they experience our brand. Rather than simply creating something that looked beautiful, she took the time to understand the why behind our business and let that guide the design.
We started with the homepage to establish the overall tone, flow, and feeling of the site, and that foundation carried beautifully throughout the rest of the website. Every detail feels intentional, cohesive, and true to us.
We are incredibly thankful for the thought, creativity, and care Kaylee put into this project. We couldn't be happier with our new website or with how well it represents both our brand and who we are as people. Her creative eye, thoughtful approach, and guidance throughout the process made such a difference, and we genuinely cannot recommend Endeavor Design Studio enough.
— Brit &Silas, Filmed by Silas Weddings
Brand Design
This project began long before colours, typography, or layouts. We spent time uncovering what truly differentiated Filmed by Silas—not just from other photographers, but within an increasingly competitive Alberta wedding market.
Through strategy sessions, questionnaires, and collaborative conversations, one idea continued to surface.
Their couples never spoke first about the photographs. They spoke about how Britney and Silas made them feel.
Calm. Comfortable. Present. Supported. That insight became the foundation for the entire rebrand.
Rather than positioning them as simply photographers or videographers, we repositioned them as wedding storytellers: A husband-and-wife team who create space for couples to experience their wedding day while thoughtfully preserving every meaningful moment.
From there, every element of the visual identity was intentionally crafted to reinforce that feeling.
Inspired by the natural landscapes of Alberta, we developed a soft, restrained colour palette that allows their imagery to remain the focal point while quietly reflecting the mountains, skies, and timeless beauty of the Canadian Rockies.
Elegant typography, generous white space, and refined editorial layouts work together to create a brand that feels calm, sophisticated, and quietly confident—mirroring the experience couples can expect from the moment they inquire to the day their gallery arrives.
Rather than chasing trends, we created a brand designed to grow with their business for years to come.
Website Design
With the strategy firmly established, the website became an extension of the experience Britney and Silas create for every couple they serve.
Every page was intentionally structured to answer a different question throughout the client's journey—from building trust and emotional connection on the homepage to providing clarity around collections, the wedding experience, and next steps.
Together, we rewrote every page of the website, refining the messaging to focus less on photography itself and more on what couples ultimately value most: remembering their wedding day exactly as it felt.
Large imagery, generous spacing, and thoughtful pacing allow the work to breathe, creating a browsing experience that feels more like turning the pages of an editorial publication than navigating a traditional photographer website.
Alongside the design, we also introduced an entirely new gallery structure built around individual wedding stories, investment resources, and a simplified inquiry process that guides visitors naturally toward booking.
Every decision—whether visual or strategic—was made to help the right couples see themselves in the experience Britney and Silas offer.
