Silas & Britney launched Filmed by Silas Weddings in 2023 with a clear vision: to bring timeless, cinematic photo and video storytelling to modern wedding couples across Manitoba and beyond. What started as a creative pursuit quickly gained momentum and they knew it was time to build a digital home that could match the quality of their work and support the growth of their business.
When they reached out, they weren’t just looking for a pretty website. They needed a strategic online presence that could showcase their artistry, elevate their brand, and start bringing in aligned inquiries consistently. This wasn’t just about aesthetics, it was about building a foundation that could help them grow sustainably, book more of their dream clients, and move their business into its next chapter.
I was thrilled to partner with them to design a brand and Squarespace website that would do exactly that: honor the emotion and elegance of their work, while also working hard behind the scenes to support their business goals.

Brand Design
Silas & Britney sought a brand that could hold both contrast and harmony: timeless romanticism with a modern edge.
Their work beautifully blends softness and sophistication, capturing real emotion with a cinematic, sometimes editorial feel, so it was important that the visual identity reflected that same balance.
I began by immersing myself in their portfolio, pulling inspiration from the textures, tones, and natural elements that consistently show up in their storytelling. From golden-hour light to the movement of fabric, florals, and landscape, their imagery is grounded in the beauty of the day, without ever feeling overly staged or traditional.
The final brand direction features a refined color palette that feels modern, soft, and quietly confident. These tones were intentionally chosen to complement their galleries without overpowering them, and to signal the high level of care, technical skill, and artistry behind every wedding they capture. The overall visual identity is subtle but strong, designed to grow with them as they continue to book more aligned couples and expand their reach across Canada.
Website Design
For this wedding photography and videography client, my core intention was simple: their work deserved to lead, not play a supporting role. Instead of designing a website where their photos and videos would be “added in” later, I built each layout around their visuals; letting their stunning portfolio take center stage and ensuring every element of the design supported a seamless user journey.
When it comes to high-ticket services like wedding photography and videography, potential clients are doing their homework. That meant this website needed to communicate two things instantly: the authenticity of their artistry and the professionalism they bring to every client experience.
To do that, I mapped out a flow that naturally guides visitors from the homepage to the specific services they’re interested in, while subtly weaving in brand values, personal touches, and soft-sell copy nestled alongside their work.
We structured the service pages to spotlight their portfolio in a way that felt both inspiring and strategic. Each package was thoughtfully tiered to reflect their expertise, stay competitive in the market, and support their goal of encouraging combined photo + video bookings. We offered a compelling incentive for bundling services; something aligned with both their goals and their clients’ needs.
The site also features galleries with individual love stories from past couples, each one creating an emotional connection that gently guides visitors toward the next step: inquiry.
Every page was crafted to help bring in aligned leads: people who truly value their work, without ever feeling salesy or pushy.
On the technical side, SEO was baked in from the start. I implemented full-scale local SEO, technical optimization, and on-page keyword strategy through my SEO Intensive process. Within just 30 days of launching, their new site saw a 600% increase in traffic and 4x more weekly inquiries compared to their old site.
This project is such a great example of how intentional strategy, thoughtful storytelling, and strong visual design can work together to create a website that not only looks beautiful, but books aligned clients, too.
