Why I Use Squarespace as My Website Design Platform in 2025

Here I’m sharing why I choose Squarespace for all of my client websites.

I design websites exclusively on Squarespace because it offers a clean, modern interface that makes things simple, for both me as your designer and for you as the business owner. Once your site is live, you’ll feel confident making edits without needing to hire someone every time.

My goal is always to create a site that’s both strategic and easy to manage, and Squarespace allows me to do just that. Below, I’ve outlined the top reasons why I believe Squarespace is the best fit for small, creative service-based businesses like yours.

6 Reasons I Use Squarespace for My Clients

1. It’s easy for you to update and manage

You don’t need to be a tech expert to make updates. Squarespace’s interface is intuitive and streamlined, so you can confidently change text, swap photos, or publish a blog post without fear of “breaking” anything.

My clients often say they feel so much more confident after launch, and that’s no accident. I also provide custom video tutorials to help you feel fully supported.

2. It’s built to look good on every screen

Squarespace sites are mobile-responsive by default, meaning your site will look amazing on phones, tablets, and desktops without any extra effort.

With more than half of web traffic coming from mobile, this is a non-negotiable for your online presence—and it’s already baked in.

3. It includes built-in SEO tools

Your website isn’t just a digital business card, it’s a powerful visibility tool. Squarespace comes with essential SEO features like clean site structure, editable meta descriptions, image alt text, and fast load speeds, all designed to help your site show up in search results.

No need to install a bunch of plugins or pay extra for basic optimization. It’s all part of the package, and I make sure it's implemented during your build.

4. It offers secure, all-in-one hosting

Squarespace is an all-in-one platform, which means your website, hosting, and security are all handled in one place. No worrying about updates, backups, or plugins crashing.

Every site also includes a free SSL certificate (a must for site security and search rankings), so your visitors know they’re browsing safely.

5. It has a clean, modern design foundation

Squarespace templates are thoughtfully designed and fully customizable. I use them as a jumping-off point to build a completely custom, strategic site that reflects your unique brand—not a cookie-cutter copy of someone else’s.

Everything we create together will feel aligned, elevated, and uniquely yours.

6. It comes with great support (and I give you even more)

Squarespace offers 24/7 customer support through live chat and email, along with a huge library of help articles and video tutorials.

As a Squarespace Circle Member (their designer partner program), I also provide extended trial periods and exclusive discounts to my clients. And of course, you’ll have access to me for post-launch support, walkthroughs, and guidance as you get to know your new site.

2025 Platform Comparison: Squarespace vs. Wix vs. Showit

Helping service providers and creative entrepreneurs choose a website platform that actually supports their business.

Ease of Use:

Squarespace | Squarespace continues to be one of the most intuitive platforms available for non-techy business owners. Its backend is clean, thoughtfully laid out, and easy to learn—even if you’ve never edited a website before. The editor feels modern and minimal (think Canva meets Apple), which means less time figuring things out and more time doing what you love.

✨ It’s the easiest platform to hand off to clients who want independence after launch.

Wix | Wix offers a lot of design freedom, but that often comes with a steeper learning curve. The editor can feel cluttered and overwhelming, especially for first-time users. There’s a risk of accidentally breaking design elements when moving things around.

⚠️ More flexibility, but more ways to get stuck.

Showit | Showit is fully customizable, which designers love, but the editing interface feels more like a graphic design tool than a website builder. For most service providers, it’s not very intuitive, and unless you’re working with a designer long-term, making future updates can be stressful.

⚠️ Gorgeous results, but expect a steeper learning curve and more reliance on outside help.

Cost / Pricing Plans (2025):

Squarespace | Squarespace offers clear, all-inclusive pricing that covers hosting, templates, and core functionality like SEO tools, email capture, blogging, and basic ecommerce.

  • Business Plan: $23/month (billed annually)

  • Basic Commerce: $28/month

  • Plus: You’ll get 20% off your first year when working with a Squarespace Circle Member (like me!)

✨ Simple pricing that grows with you. No hidden costs, no stacking plugins.

Wix | Wix has a wide range of pricing tiers, but many features (like extra storage, custom domains, or bookings) require upgrading. It can start out affordable but get expensive quickly depending on your needs.

⚠️ Feels affordable at first, but often ends up being pieced together.

Showit | Showit’s pricing depends on whether or not you want a blog (which runs on WordPress). The cost goes up if you need more functionality or plug-in support. You’ll also need to register and manage your domain separately.

⚠️ Most expensive of the three when you factor in plugins and blog features.

Plug-ins & Integrations for Service Providers

Squarespace | Squarespace offers a range of built-in features tailored to service-based businesses. You can easily connect forms, email platforms like Flodesk or ConvertKit, calendars like Acuity or Calendly, and even digital product delivery—all without a dozen extra plugins.

✨ It’s the cleanest, most stable option for creatives who don’t want tech overwhelm.

Wix | Wix has a huge app marketplace and lots of integrations, but many require upgrades or have overlapping functions that can make your site feel clunky. It’s easy to end up with a bloated site that’s hard to manage.

⚠️ Lots of options, but not all are reliable or necessary.

Showit | Because Showit uses WordPress for blogging and integrations, you can technically connect a wide range of tools. But WordPress plugins come with compatibility risks, update issues, and more maintenance. You also need to understand how WordPress works or hire someone who does.

⚠️ Powerful, but not simple—and not built for DIY service providers.

Customer Support:

Squarespace | Squarespace has consistently excellent customer service. Their 24/7 support includes live chat, email, a robust help center, and beautifully detailed tutorials. Their designer community is also active and well-supported.

✨ You’re never stuck Googling answers for hours.

Wix | Wix offers help articles, phone support, and tickets—but quality can vary depending on your issue and your plan level. Live chat is limited and not available on all plans.

⚠️ Support is hit-or-miss, and sometimes slow to respond.

Showit | Showit has kind, personable support via email during business hours. They offer helpful articles and a friendly Facebook group, but no live chat or weekend availability.

⚠️ Help is available, but not instant.

Final Thoughts: What’s Best for Service Providers and Creatives?

Squarespace is the most balanced and strategic option for small businesses who want a site that’s easy to manage, aesthetically elevated, and built to grow with them.

Wix may offer more flexibility, but that flexibility often leads to complexity.
Showit gives designers full creative control, but the backend isn’t user-friendly for most entrepreneurs.

If you want a website that feels aligned, looks custom, and doesn’t make you panic or take up an entire day when you need to change something, Squarespace is the one.
