Custom Squarespace Website & Brand Design for Holistic Doula in Canada

I’m so thrilled to share this warm, nature-inspired online home for Susan Little Childbirth Services — a certifying Full Spectrum Holistic Doula serving families in Carstairs, Airdrie, Olds, and the surrounding communities.

Susan’s work is rooted in gentle, nurturing, evidence-based care, supporting families through fertility, birth, postpartum, and loss with calm guidance and deep listening.

When we began this project, Susan envisioned a brand and website that would feel welcoming, grounded, and inspired by nature. One of the most meaningful elements we wove throughout her visuals is the koru — a symbol of new life, growth, and continuous nurturing — paired with wildflower motifs and earthy textures.

From her warm colour palette and organic shapes to the thoughtful imagery and spacious copy, every detail was designed to help families feel at ease from the moment they arrive on her site.

It was such an honour to co-create this brand and website for Susan — a project filled with intention, trust, and so much heart.

This custom brand design was inspired by Susan’s New Zealand heritage and her deep desire for her brand to reflect the natural, grounded spirit at the heart of her practice.

As I do with every brand design project, I provided Susan with three distinct brand boards, each showcasing different combinations of typography, imagery, colours, and logo directions. She then had the freedom to mix and match elements to create a brand that truly feels like her: warm, nurturing, and rooted in nature.

The Home page introduces visitors to Susan’s story and qualifications, then flows naturally into her service offerings, making it easy for clients to explore the ways she can support them. Each page is designed to end with a clear, welcoming contact form. This was the primary call to action Susan wanted to focus on to help her connect with more families in her community.

To keep the site user-friendly and intuitive, we organized her services into two dedicated pages — grouping similar offerings together while allowing plenty of space to share the depth of her support, her values, and what clients can expect. This clear structure builds trust and transparency while making her site easy to navigate.

Every page was designed with both on-page and technical SEO best practices in mind — including keyword-rich headings, accessible image alt text, intentional internal linking, and clear page structure — so her website can be found by the families who need her most. We also included an SEO-focused FAQ page to address common client questions and boost her search visibility, plus a warm, inviting Contact page that ensures every visitor feels welcomed and encouraged to reach out.
